The Goldbergs: Jeff Garlin's character will die in the upcoming season

The ABC sitcom The Goldbergs' co-showrunners have talked about what would happen to Jeff Garlin's character in the upcoming season.

After an internal investigation, Garlin, who played Murray Goldberg, the family patriarch, left the programme in 2021.

The physical and verbal antics of the 60-year-old star, which reportedly disturbed his coworkers.

Garlin's character will already be dead when the programme returns for season 10 according to Alex Barnow.

He said, “This is going to be a family that has not reconciled the fact that their father’s gone but has sort of moved on and has dealt with a lot of that.”

Chris Bishop said: “It honestly feels like a huge reboot for us. So we have tons of momentum rolling into this new season.”

Garlin quickly refuted allegations that he had been dismissed, acknowledging that he had gone through annual investigations by human resources, shortly after the 2021 announcement.

Garlin will be playing the same character in the upcoming 12th season of HBO's "Curb Your Enthusiasm," which is led by Larry David.

The Goldbergs' tenth season will debut on ABC on September 21 in the United States.
